Cycling and Kayaking in Seattle

Yesterday, Holden and I rode our bikes into Seattle and had breakfast on the water at Agua Verde in the University District. We enjoyed some breakfast burritos, good espresso, and great views.
After breakfast, we walked down stairs to the Agua Verde Paddle Club to rent some sea kayaks with our friend and fellow racer, Nick Adsero. We had an awesome time paddling out into Lake Union, through the neighborhoods of houseboats, and back to the marsh areas near S.R. 520. What a great day paddling in one of the most beautiful and fun cities in the U.S. What a gorgeous day on the water.
After kayaking, Holden and I rode to Gasworks Park to play around and then back up to Cycle University to meet up with Kristi as she was finishing work, and catch a ride back home. Life is good........

2010 STP

On the weekend of July 17 & 18, a bunch of us rode the famous Seattle to Portland bike ride. 12 of us rode together with awesome support from Mandi and Holden driving while pulling the True North O.S.V.
We started off from University of WA and headed South. Our goal was to ride 150 miles of the 200 on the first day, and then only have 50 miles to do on Sunday, so we booked our hotel in Kelso (150 mile mark) and hoped for the best. At the 100 mile mark (Centralia), Holden got his bike out and rode with us for nearly 30 miles which was a lot of fun. We finished up our day with all 12 team E.F.M. (Edmonds Family Medical) riders making the 150 miles look easy. After some showers, Team E.F.M. sat down for some good Mexican food and called it a night.
The next morning we got to relax since we only had 50 miles to go. We rolled out around 10am and headed to Portland. All in all, the day was pretty uneventful with only Trish getting a flat about 10 miles out of Portland. We all got regrouped as we came into town, and rode the last 2 miles in a tight group. It was fun coming into the finish line with Mandi and Holden there waiting for us.
After relaxing in the park for a couple of hours, we went to the hotel, showered up, and uncorked some "Sailor Jerry's Rum" while watching the Tour de France on TV. This has got to be the life! We went out for some Pizza dinner and continued to celebrate into the night.
All in all, a great time and special thanks to; Mandi, Holden, Edmonds Family Medical, and Northwood MFG/True North O.S.V. for the support over the weekend.

True North demo at Mike's Automotive in Marysville

Yesterday, Holden and I went to Mike's Automotive (Northwood Mfg warranty post) in Marysville to show them the True North OSV. They have expressed interest in becoming a dealership for the unit, and we showed ours off and answered some questions. Great group of guys there, and we hope to be working with them in the future.

Bike Fit & BBQ

On Sunday the 11th, A bunch of North End cycling friends who will be riding together in the STP (Seattle to Portland) this weekend got together at our home for a bike fit and BBQ and drinks.
Kristi provided everyone with a personal bike fit to make those perfect ergonomic adjustments, as we enjoyed a great evening together looking forward to our 200 mile weekend ride.

Winthrop Mountain Bike Trip

Well, we had a great time in Winthrop mountain biking and seeing friends and family. We set up the True North OSV in the yard of Sandra's house overlooking Lake Dibble. On Thursday, Kristi, Holden, and I went for a great ride out of the Chickadee trailhead and ended up all the way down the mountain and back into town for a coffee stop. I forgot my shoes at home (insert idiotic comments now), and had to borrow a pair from some friends in the Valley. Though appreciated, they were 2 sizes too big, which put a damper in my riding week. Instead, while Kristi went out for a training ride, Holden and I would go exploring the ridges/valleys in the SUV.
Great time, and great weather. We did get some great pictures as well.
